Leviticus 25:25–34
If your brother becomes impoverished and sells some of his property, his nearest of kin may come and redeem what his brother has sold. / Or if a man has no one to redeem it for him, but he prospers and acquires enough to redeem his land, / he shall calculate the years since its sale, repay the balance to the man to whom he sold it, and return to his property.
Leviticus 27:2–13, 14–33
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them, ‘When someone makes a special vow to the LORD involving the value of persons, / if the valuation concerns a male from twenty to sixty years of age, then your valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver, according to the sanctuary shekel. / Or if it is a female, then your valuation shall be thirty shekels.
Ruth 4:3–10
And he said to the kinsman-redeemer, “Naomi, who has returned from the land of Moab, is selling the piece of land that belonged to our brother Elimelech. / I thought I should inform you that you may buy it back in the presence of those seated here and in the presence of the elders of my people. If you want to redeem it, do so. But if you will not redeem it, tell me so I may know, because there is no one but you to redeem it, and I am next after you.” “I will redeem it,” he replied. / Then Boaz said, “On the day you buy the land from Naomi and also from Ruth the Moabitess, you must also acquire the widow of the deceased in order to raise up the name of the deceased on his inheritance.”
